In keeping with Marko’s tradition, I give you the first ever, “Monday Update”
The weekend: This weekend kicked off with two (count em 2) performances of my daughter’s school Christmas program. I got up and drove them to school at 8am Friday, and stayed to watch their dress rehearsal. Then, I took them to McDonald’s for breakfast. Later, we drove to Grand Rapids where I had a nice meeting with Jon from 5th at the Biggby Coffee shop that we always meet at – which, I found out was the last day they were opened! That’s so sad! Anyway, that night, a bunch of the family came to watch the 7pm Christmas play followed by some dessert at our place. Saturday, we had a lazy morning before driving out to our friends Betsy and Brandie’s place where we watched Christmas movies, made crafts, ate dinner and I got my haircut (Brandie has her own salon in their basement!) Sunday turned out to be one of cold and pain, so we didn’t end up travelling at all.
Where I am at the moment: At home, wrapped in blankets , leg warmers and thermal socks! Trying to keep my legs warm and my pain down. I should be on my way to Grand Rapids for a meeting, but I told them I couldn’t make it due to my pain (I hate doing that by the way). So, I’ll be home today finishing up some school work today.
On my to-do list this week: Write a paper for one class, catch up in Hebrew for the week, meetings with several people through the week. Try to get as much done before Christmas break next week.
Procrastinating about: This book review/paper that I’m writing. I am SO not motivated to finish this one.
Book’s I’m in the middle of: “Growing in the life of Faith” by Dykstra (which I’m trying to finish today for the review)
Music I’m listening to: Right now, I have a Christmas music mix – Amy Grant is singing in the background. I’ve been listening a lot to Michael Card’s “Hymns” album this weekend, and the original Indelible Grace project, I guess I’m feel nostalgic for the hymns of my youth.
How I’m feeling about this week: Anxious. Only because it’s so cold which brings me a great deal of pain that I have to fight my way through as much as I can. Today, I’m loosing the fight.
